Local legend Reva Paget is a seasoned violinist of multiple genres. She has performed and recorded multiple albums with Atlanta-based group The BlarneyGirls for many years, and has been a staple of Celtic and Scottish festivals all over the southeastern United States. She is thrilled to join her sound with the talented members of the Reel Folk and perform for audiences in Utah.
Sofie has been trained in a myriad of musical styles, including opera, jazz, modern choral, and bluegrass. She excited to add Irish trad and Celtic folk to an eclectic performance career.
Classically trained in violin, Sam is a multi-instrumentalist who shreds on the banjo, guitar, mandolin, and octave mando. When he’s not nailing riffs, he captures moments with his [insert cool camera name here] on [insert cool film type here]
"As the last rays of the setting sun peek through the windows of the tavern, you hear an ancient melody strummed over the clink of mugs and conversations of patrons..." This is Christopher's career aspiration. He enjoys nothing more than to bring his custom arrangements to life through the talents of his fellow musicians, with the textures of unique folk instruments.
Emily has enjoyed playing classical piano for 15 years. She picked up accordion somewhere along the way, which was her first real exposure to folk music. She is a member of the BYU Celtic ensemble and Mountain Strings and has played at various international music festivals with BYU and other affiliated dance and music groups.
Dani Klappoth is a modern renaissance woman - she’s a curve model, a spray tan arteest, a vocalist… is there anything she can’t do? Yes, there are a lot of things. But, Dani wants to learn it all, so don’t count her out just yet. Her vocal style matches her personality; while she excels at singing classical music, Dani loves singing anything ranging from Les Mis to Sean Nós (traditional Irish singing: “in the old way”).
Charles plays frame drums, darbouka, and other percussion. He also writes cozy science fiction stories and grows tasty fruits in his garden. He has performed with several folk groups along the Wasatch Front and also performs and records as Trebizond. He lives with his family in northern Utah County where he writes cozy science fiction and tends a garden.
Emily has been Irish dancing for 18 years, performing and competing all over the western United States, including the Western Region Oireachtas. She has a Masters degree from the University of Limerick where she studied Irish Music & Dance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, and has attended the Craiceann, an international bodhrán summer school in Inis Oirr, Ireland, working with Irish bands such as Goitse, Ímar, and Beoga.
Michele Medina-Ferrone is a multidisciplinary violinist. She has been classically trained but is a natural improviser and is excited to explore traditional and folk music from different parts of the world. Michele is also a Spanish dual immersion teacher and ensures that her students receive arts education.
